Welcome to the Calhoun C**t family, Ms. Moore!

Denton ISD Fine Arts welcomes Calhoun Middle School Assistant Band Director Ms. Emily Moore!

Ms. Moore is a recent Fall 2025 graduate of the University of North Texas with a Bachelor's degree in Music Education. This will be her first year of teaching, and she is so excited to be in Denton ISD at Calhoun Middle School as an assistant band director! Ms. Moore most recently completed her clinical teaching at Wortham Intermediate School, Scoggins Middle School, and Emerson High School in Frisco ISD. Throughout her time at UNT, Ms. Moore taught for multiple high school band programs as a marching band technician, as well as teaching private lessons in Peaster, Texas. She performed with the UNT Wind Ensemble for many years, as well as the Concert Orchestra, Horn Choir, and the UNT Green Brigade. She went on to play mellophone for the Blue Knights Drum and Bugle Corps, and is currently a mellophone tech at Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps. Originally from Burleson, Texas, Ms. Moore has had music as a constant in her life for many years, and she is thrilled to pass that on to her students to help create the best musicians and humans through band. She is so excited to begin her professional teaching career with the wonderful students and staff at Calhoun Middle School, and is ready to be a part of a great team of music educators!

This past weekend, our Calhoun TAFE students represented Denton ISD and the state of Texas at the Educators Rising National Conference in Portland, Oregon, and they showed up in a BIG way!

These accomplishments represent months of preparation, perseverance, courage, and commitment. We are so proud of the way our students represented Calhoun, Denton ISD, and the TAFE family on the national stage.
