Dr. Chu has more than 30 years of experience in family medicine, and he has built a reputation for delivering care that blends medical expertise with genuine compassion. As one of our Medical Directors, he plays a vital role in guiding patients and families through one of life’s most sensitive journeys, ensuring comfort, dignity, and respect at every stage.

Dr. Chu’s career began in comprehensive primary care, where he developed lasting relationships with patients across all ages and backgrounds. This foundation has shaped his holistic approach to hospice care, where he focuses not only on managing symptoms but also on supporting emotional and spiritual well-being.

At Aveanna Hospice, Dr. Chu will help guide a dedicated, multidisciplinary team, fostering collaboration and compassion in every patient’s plan of care. His leadership ensures that each patient’s unique needs and wishes are honored, while families receive the guidance and reassurance they need during challenging times.

Aveanna Hospice Nurse Lakeisha is a true hero for the patients she serves and for their loved ones.

When little Emmy saw an unfamiliar face at her grandparents' house, she was shy at first. But as Nurse Keisha began unpacking her supplies and chatting warmly with Emmy, something magical happened. Emmy spotted a familiar gadget. She ran to her playroom and returned with her own medical bag, digging deep for her toy stethoscope!

Keisha took the time to explain to Emmy everything she was doing during her visit, including what the stethoscope did and why it mattered. As Emmy's grandfather shared, "Keisha has treated my dad and our family with a compassion that feels like family. She is a real-life hero for Emmy."
