U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Wedge

Saddened by the loss of CWO Bobbi East, the crew of CGC WEDGE was unable to attend the ATC Mobile honors ceremony. WEDGE took a moment this morning to render honors and pay respect to CWO Bobbi East by laying a wreathe and flowers into the Black Warrior River while underway. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family.

Over the past two weeks, CGC Wedge and her crew were hard at work ensuring the southern stretch of the Tombigbee river, from Demopolis all the way to Mobile, is serviced with buoys. From Monday to Thursday alone, Wedge and her crew set 142 buoys! These aids to navigation assist both commercial and private traffic on the riverways, designating safe travel areas.

Yesterday onboard CGC Wedge we had the pleasure of having an advancement ceremony for BM1 Mitchell Anderson. Shortly after 11 am BM1 Anderson was advanced to the rank of Chief Petty Officer. This is advancement is such a huge accomplishment in a member's career. Congratulation to you and your family Chief Anderson.

Today we say goodbye to FN Privett as he starts his next adventure to MST Aschool. We wish you good luck on the next chapter of your Coast Guard career. Fair winds and following seas.
