Observed on the third Saturday in May, Armed Forces Day honors those currently serving in the United States military. It’s a day dedicated to recognizing their commitment, readiness, and ongoing service to the nation.

Armed Forces Day is also an official US flag-flying holiday! Americans are encouraged to display the national flag from sunrise to sunset as a show of support and appreciation for everyone serving in the US Armed Forces.

April 6 marks Army Day, a date that commemorates the United States' entry into World War I in 1917. American efforts helped bring the war in Europe to a close the following year.

Today, Army Day stands as a tribute to the strength, service, and sacrifice of the United States Army, both past and present.

Army Day is also recognized as an official US flag-flying holiday, meaning the American flag should be displayed from sunrise to sunset in honor of the day.
