🇺🇸 In honor of America’s 250th birthday, we were honored to welcome Veterans from our community to the farm for a special Veterans Open House. It was a wonderful opportunity to share information about HERD Foundation, introduce our incredible horses, and foster meaningful connections among fellow Veterans.

At HERD Foundation, all Veteran programming is made possible through the generosity of our donors, community partners, and supporters. We are incredibly grateful for the community that makes this work possible.

One of our Veterans joined us at Fall In Friday after an injury, using a motorized wheelchair to navigate the arena and connect with the horses.

To Merlin, the wheelchair didn’t matter, only the connection. 💙 The two shared some special moments together during the session, and a few of them are pictured here

Sometimes, care looks quiet. A moment of rest. A watchful friend nearby. The comfort of knowing you’re not alone.

As this sweet girl Aggie takes a moment to rest, her herd stays close - keeping watch, offering comfort in the way horses so naturally do. It’s a beautiful reminder that we all do better when we feel safe, supported, and connected.

We all need a buddy who checks in, stands beside us, and reminds us we’re not carrying life alone 🐴✨
