Spencer Aviation has been recognized for its excellence in flight training by the Aircraft Owners and Pilot’s Association (AOPA), the worlds largest aviation association. Spencer Aviation has been awarded the title of ”2019 Best Flight School in the Great Lakes Region” and is the only flight school in the region to earn this recognition.

AOPA’s Flight Training Experience Awards were created to highlight the best flight training the industry has to offer. “Creating a genuine bond with a customer is crucial to creating a positive flight training experience,” said Chris Moser, AOPA’s Senior Director of Flight Training Education. “Based on the direct feedback we received in the Survey, there is no doubt that this year’s winners have connected in a powerful way to their customers. These flight training providers are doing it right!”

The 2019 awards were drawn from flight students and pilots who voluntarily reviewed their flight training experience this past summer through an AOPA online customer satisfaction survey. The process yielded an evaluation of 972 different flight schools and 1,876 individual flight instructors.

Spencer Aviation would like to thank all current and past students who took the survey and congratulations to our great Certified Flight Instructors who have consistently made this happen!

In 2012, Spencer Aviation was listed on the first AOPA "Flight Training Excellence Awards Flight School Honor Roll". Spencer Aviation was again listed in 2013, 2014 and 2016. On the 2017 Flight Training Experience Survey, Spencer Aviation was given a 100% for "Professional Instructors and staff" and 100% for "Friendly and Supportive staff". In 2018, Spencer Aviation was recognized as a Distinguished Flight School, a title given to high scoring flight schools from AOPA's 2018 Flight Training Experience Survey! To be recognized as a Distinguished Flight School, Spencer Aviation needed to be ranked in the top 4% of flight schools nationwide! In 2019 AOPA awarded one top flight school in each of six regions. Spencer Aviation is honored to be named “2019 Best Flight School in the Great Lakes Region”.

Spencer Aviation's next Private Pilot Ground School will begin on Monday, March 25th, 2019. The classes will be held on Monday nights. Our class is from 6:30pm - 9:00pm for ten weeks.

To be recognized as a Distinguished Flight School, Spencer Aviation needed to be ranked in the top 4% of flight schools nationwide. AOPA has already listed Spencer Aviation on the Honor Roll of Flight Schools in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2016 and in 2017 Spencer Aviation was given a 100% poll rating for Professionalism and Friendly and Supportive staff.
