Algebra 1 Review (Semester 1 in detail) 12/13/2022

This algebra 1 (semester 1) tutorial is for those in high school or taking college algebra and need to prepare for a midterm or final exam. Topics were taken based on common core, and the typical subjects covered in the first half of Algebra 1. I included plenty of insight into common errors that I’ve observed over my 20+ years of teaching, so hopefully you can avoid them on your test!

Solve Quadratic Equations with a Square Root (Algebra) 12/01/2022

Learn to use a simple square root to find the two solutions of many quadratic equations. I cover quite a few quadratic equation examples, ranging from easy to more difficult, including the last one where factoring is necessary. Don't forget to keep track of the plus/minus AFTER taking the square root of both sides of the equation!

Using the Power Rule for Derivatives and Antiderivatives (Calculus) 11/21/2022

4 quick examples to show how to use the power rule to find derivatives AND antiderivatives. I think it's a great idea to learn them at the same time! The last example uses the F(x) vs f(x) notation for the antiderivative, which is often found on college and AP Calculus tests.

Hope this helps you get started with derivatives!

First and Second Derivative Tests Calculus (Extrema, Concavity, Increasing, Decreasing) 11/04/2022

Learn the complete process of using sign charts along with the first and second derivatives to find intervals of increasing and decreasing, intervals of concavity, and extrema. This video goes in-depth with a 4th-degree function and demonstrates how technology can be used to find zeroes on the derivatives.

Interval Notation 01/14/2022

Learn to write interval notation given inequalities or number line graphs. Interval Notation given compound inequalities involving unions are included as well as an example where x can NOT be 3, which is revenant for domain problems like f(x)=x/(x-3). I think the video turned out well, so hopefully it will help you get the hang of it!

Standard Form to Vertex Form for Quadratic Functions 01/06/2022

Rewrite a standard form quadratic equation into a vertex form equation. By converting to vertex form, the vertex of the graph can be easily found. Completing the square is the method I used in this video, and I will link to my other video about HOW to complete the square if you need more practice.
