Introducing the latest in UV technology. The DEL UV-C50 is finally available after a full year in development. The engineers have looked at what has worked well on other systems, and what has not worked well. The result is the UV-C50. This unit has encompassed all the benefits of it’s predecessors and goes a step beyond.

Pool Algae
Getting rid of pool algae can be annoying! Almost every pool owner, at some point or another, has to deal with algae. Not only is it frustrating in terms of appearance, but it can be difficult to eliminate. There are a number of types of algae that can invade your pool, if traditional methods are used, some algae are more difficult to eradicate than others. How to get rid of pool algae once and for all!
First of all it is important to identify the type of algae had invaded your swimming space. In general, there are 3 types of algae that typically invade your pool or spa. Algae is single celled and uses photosynthesis to manufacture its food. In most cases, algae is non viral and poses no concerns to your health, it is simply a nuisance for pool owners.

Five Simple Reasons to Install A UV System to your Pool.
1. Health – People are becoming much more aware of the dangers of pool chemicals. There is plenty of documentation on the health risks associated with chlorine and it’s by products, and consumers are becoming much more cognizant of it. A UV pool system eliminates up to 90% of chlorine and nearly 100% of chlorine side effects. Ultraviolet systems reduce harsh chemicals to safe levels commonly found in drinking water, only .3 – .5 ppm. UV for pools frees you of burning eyes, skin irritations, foul chemical odors, bleached hair, and chlorine allergies.
2. Economics – With a UV system, there is a drastic reduction in pool chemicals and the need to shock (up to 90%). This represents a significant savings to your pool operating costs. A dramatic reduction in the need to shock the pool, and a much-reduced need to test the pools regularly, means your maintenance costs are down significantly. Additionally, the operating costs of the UV system are very low; a single lamp Ultra UV system for a pool or spa is equivalent to running a 60W light bulb.
3. Maintenance – Reduce maintenance time, particularly regarding swimming pools and spas, means savings. With our UV system maintenance is infrequent and easy. As long and the circulation system runs a minimum amount of time per day, the ultraviolet light will keep the water clear and clean, allowing more time for other demands.
4. Algae – What pool owner has not had to deal with algae at some point or another. With a uv pool system, you will no longer need to worry about some algae invading the pool. Since the ultraviolet light disables the single cell DNA, algae cannot manufacture its own food through photosynthesis, thereby eliminating growth and expansion. If there is flow, algae will not have a chance to develop.
5. Corrosion - One of the biggest misconceptions about salt water pools is that they are free of chlorine. Salt is unable to sanitize a pool as is sometimes believed. In fact, salt is converted to chlorine through electrolysis. Consequently, 2 corrosive elements circulating in the pools system; saline and chlorine. If you have a salt water system already, there is no need to eliminate it completely. The addition of our UV pool system will allow you to dial the chlorine generation back to drinking water standards. This will not only serve to reduce the chemical content of the pool, but it will greatly extend the life of your salt cell.

Is UV from the sun the same as the ultraviolet light used in our sanitation systems?
UV from the sun is not the same as the UV used in our ultraviolet sanitation system. There are basically 3 types of UV rays. First, UV-A make up most of the sun’s natural light. They can pe*****te deep into the skin, causing wrinkles and premature aging of the skin. UV-B rays are the main cause of sunburn. They are nearly 1,000 times stronger than UV-A rays.
Finally, UV-C rays never reach the earth’s surface because the atmosphere filters them out. However, this is the rays we use as germicidal UV to sanitize your pools and spas. The most effective wavelength for disinfection is 264 nm.
