Floreale
Inspired by European folk art, this 16 inch diameter piece is one of the largest I’ve completed. Her refraction makes me so happy.
She will be with me this weekend at the DeLand Craft Show in Downtown DeLand. Look for me on the East side of Woodland between Artisan Alley and New York Ave. Can’t wait to see you there!

She’s been waiting for her moment to shine since January of 2024 when I came up with the idea.
So I have to admit, this piece scared the s**t out of me…for no good fu***ng reason. It was bigger than I had ever made…over 200 pieces of glass and 16” in diameter. I planned on using zinc came to frame it…but the idea of using a came bender was the inevitable reason it sat in my studio for over a year.
When the time came to get it done, I had to put on my big girl pants to get to that s**t. Did I f**k up my first piece of came? Yes…but not because of the bending…I cut that s**t too short. 🤦🏻♀️
Second piece went on with no issue. How long did the thing I was procrastinating for a year take me? Forty five fu***ng minutes. Fu***ng hell.
Moral of the story: do the scary thing. It’s really not that bad.

As I prepare for the DeLand Craft Show (September 27 & 28 in Downtown DeLand for you locals), I realize that these two beauties didn’t get their chance to shine in the sun. I can’t wait for y’all to see the refractions…oh they are pretty!

2023 gave me a lot of joy…and a lot of feelings. Our oldest went away to college, our youngest decided to focus on fast tracking his education. Both proud moments, but equally sad that this time is fleeting.
My stained glass journey has been tremendous. Started doing bigger, more complicated projects was a big one this year. Learned I love the details of a design, even if the pieces end up 1/4 the size of my pinky nail.
2024 has bigger projects and I’m sure even bigger challenges. I can’t wait to share what’s in store.
Happy New Year y’all.
