As we approach graduation, our Youth Leadership Del Rio Class VI wrapped up their final session with an important focus on communication within a team environment. This lesson brought everything full circle, reinforcing the skills our students have been building all year.
A heartfelt thank you to Lupita De La Paz from Casa de la Cultura for graciously hosting us. Our students had the opportunity to learn in such a meaningful space while enjoying the beautiful artwork throughout the building.
We are also incredibly grateful to our guest speakers. Eddie Amezcua shared his personal journey and valuable insights on effective team communication, while José Gaitan brought the Casa to life with a fabulous and engaging tour of the murals.
A special thank you to Five Points Market for fueling our students with a mouthwatering burger meal—it was the perfect way to keep everyone energized and engaged!
And of course, none of this would be possible without our dedicated committee members: Melissa Zambrano, Dora Fernandez, Emily King, Roger Gonzalez and Rosa Zambrano. Your commitment continues to inspire and support the success of our students.
We are so proud of how far these young leaders have come and can’t wait to celebrate them at graduation! 🎓✨

YLDR Class VI: Importance of Teamwork

Our students learned firsthand how teamwork plays a vital role in running a successful business. From an inside tour of the operations to making their very own pizzas, they experienced how every role works together behind the scenes to keep things moving efficiently.

Thank you to James Baker and Sean McGillicuddy from Mr. Gatti’s for taking our students on a behind-the-scenes tour and showing them the ins and outs of what makes this establishment so successful.

A special thank you to Sgt. Jesus Emilio Galindo for being our inspiring guest speaker today. He shared his personal journey and gave our students meaningful insight into how teamwork impacts not only careers but everyday life.

We also want to recognize our dedicated YLDR committee members — Melissa Zambrano, Ruby Adams, and Emily King — for their interactive team-building activities that brought today’s lesson to life.

Days like today are what Youth Leadership Del Rio is all about — learning, leading, and growing together! 💙👏
