The ‘going through’ is temporary, but the ‘going to’ is eternal. Keep your eyes forward.

“O God, as we worship in your Temple, we meditate on your unwavering love.”
Psalms 48:9 NLT

Sunday is not just another day; it holds a special significance for me. I have cherished Sunday worship for many years, and I can’t imagine my life without it. However, routine can sometimes lead to a lack of genuine connection and a superficial approach to worship. While it’s important to be enjoy the rhythm and catchy phrases of a song, true worship comes from the depths of our hearts.

Meditating on God’s unfailing love cultivates gratitude, which serves as a gateway to His presence. It shifts our focus from our own limitations and challenges to the boundless power, faithfulness, and goodness of God. This shift opens the door to the awe of God, to reverence, and a deeper communion with Him.

Let’s make this Sunday extraordinary by approaching our worship with a sense of reverence and purpose. Take ownership of your worship by meditating on the words, reflecting on their meaning, and allowing them to become a sincere expression of your heart. God seeks true worshippers, and may He find one in you!
God is faithful!💙

“Oh come, let us worship and bow down; Let us kneel before the Lord our Maker.”

This word keeps coming up in the epistles. Steadfast, immovable, rooted, grounded, steady, STAND. Paul really drives this thought home in his letters!
After seeing it again today in Colossians, I did a quick word search to see how many times it comes up in the Bible. The estimates ranged anywhere from 200+ to 2000+ (I’m assuming depending on translation). But the thing that struck me was that in the Old Testament, the use of this word was almost exclusively about God, referencing “the steadfast love of the Lord”. In the New Testament, the references were mostly in Paul’s letters and mostly calling us to do this . . . BE STEADFAST. Almost like a call and response! The Lord is steadfast, therefore we are called to stand, to be strong, to be rooted in His strength. It is one of Paul’s famous “therefores”! God is steadfast, therefore we must be also. And if there’s anything this world needs today, it is steadfast Christians. Rooted and grounded in truth and ready to stand strong. But I think it’s so important to remember where this strength comes from! It is not ginned up in our own hearts, it comes from being rooted in the mighty oak of God’s steadfast love. It comes from Him! And incidentally, it comes from learning and dwelling in His steadfast love in the scriptures. So . . . to the Word! To strength and steadfast love."

“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.” ~1 John 5:14

He hears us!

Sometimes it seems like the prayers we lift up, disappear into the atmosphere . . . They do not! HE hears us!

We can be confident that Jesus hears our every prayer! His Word is truth, He never fails! And if He hears us, we can be confident that He will answer us.

Get that deep down in your spirit this morning!
