Children experiencing foster care need someone in their corner — someone who will show up, listen, and advocate for their best interests. CASA volunteers are that steady, trusted voice.
You don’t need a legal background.
You don’t need special credentials.

🎉 Advocacy in Action: Celebrating Volunteer Leadership on the National Stage 🎉
We are thrilled to share that two of our incredible volunteers — Deborah Jackson and Mary Starck — have been selected to serve on the National CASA/GAL Association’s National Volunteer Council (NVC) for a two‑year term!
This national appointment recognizes volunteers who demonstrate exceptional leadership, commitment, and insight in child advocacy. Having two representatives from DeKalb County CASA chosen in the same year is an extraordinary honor and speaks volumes about their dedication.
Deborah and Mary have been CASA volunteers since November 2013, and their impact has been felt across countless children and families. Both have been recognized as Volunteers of the Month (Mary twice, Deborah once), reflecting their compassion, consistency, and exemplary advocacy.
As members of the NVC, they will help elevate volunteer voices nationwide and contribute to shaping the future of child advocacy work across the CASA/GAL network.
Please join us in congratulating Deborah Jackson and Mary Starck on this incredible achievement. We are so proud of them and grateful for their leadership! 💙✨
