The Task Force for Global Health

At The Task Force for Global Health, the Partnership for International Vaccine Initiatives (PIVI) partnered with The Global Fund to incorporate the 7-1-7 principles into its surveillance and preparedness work, helping countries build stronger systems for detecting, preventing, and responding to health threats. It is now widely used by our global partners as well as those at the CDC and the World Health Organization (WHO).

This innovative framework, originally developed by Resolve to Save Lives, helps countries strengthen their ability to detect outbreaks within 7 days, notify public health authorities within 1 day, and mount an effective response within 7 days.

By strengthening vaccination programs, surveillance capacity, and public health infrastructure, PIVI helps countries improve readiness for future outbreaks while protecting communities today.

: The Task Force for Global Health recently wrapped up a busy week at the 79th World Health Assembly in Geneva. Our Coalition for Global Hepatitis Elimination program co-convened an official side event with robust participation. Together, they released a new Ministerial Statement that calls for concrete political actions leading to a WHA resolution and a UN High-Level Meeting on Hepatitis Elimination. Health Campaign Effectiveness Coalition, another program of The Task Force, co-collaborated on a side event addressing the challenge of accelerating disease elimination during a time of declining global funding.

During our time at , collaboration proved to be the cornerstone of effective global health policy. We continue to stand with Member States, advocates, and health leaders to advance disease elimination and strengthen health systems.
