Morgan Courthouse to reopen to public Monday, April 6
DECATUR – The Morgan County Courthouse will reopen to the public on Monday, April 6, while renovations to the building continue.
The public is asked to park in the Cain Street (north) and Line Street (west) lots and enter the courthouse through the second-floor entrance on the Cain Street side of the building.
Courthouse officials expect it to be a few more weeks before the Lee Street entrance is reopened to the public. Upgrades to the 51-year-old building began in 2025. The courthouse closed to the public in mid-February while work on the electrical system was performed.
“We want to thank the public for its patience during these upgrades,” County Commission Chairman Ray Long said. “The public will notice a few changes in the building and most of the work on the interior of the building has been completed.”

31 years! It is hard to believe it has been 31 years since these wonderful guys were born. I am thankful every day that I get to be their father. It is a joy to watch you grow into the fine Christian young men they have become and will become. Love you guys and Happy Birthday!
