Our MLKJr community service camp with yesterday was so special. We discussed how we are all connected and we care for all living beings.
-We practiced communicating and working with people who we didn't know with some partner yoga.
-We read "We Are Connected" by Gabi Garcia.
-Our activity was building care kits for those who are in need.
Each bag contained an emergency blanket, socks, hand warmers, sanitization wipes, toiletries, a variety of snacks, electrolytes, water, and a personalized note expressing love and peace to all.
I heard kids of all ages tell stories of how they have watched their parents help others in need. Our kids are watching and listening. 💜

*We.Are.Not.Our.Thoughts*
Last weekend with KindTreeKids was not only beautiful weather but a very beautiful topic that reminds us we are so much more than those pesky, unhelpful thoughts. We learned to acknowledge those unwanted thoughts, offer it just enough space to say "oh hello there" and then let it go. This gives us more room for gathering helpful and wanted thoughts.
It's so easy to forget that these unhelpful thoughts are so often untrue and won't matter tomorrow...even though they feel so alive and loud in our minds! This is our friendly reminder that we can build skills to develop the agency of how to respond to ALL of our thoughts.
