Mental health and wellness should be priorities that we practice every day. True wellness is not limited to one month of recognition—it is an ongoing commitment to caring for ourselves mentally, emotionally, physically, socially, and spiritually.

This month, I made the decision to reinvest in my health by reengaging with the gym. In addition to attending some of my favorite classes—Yoga, Zumba, Pilates, and Kickboxing—I have committed to incorporating weight training back into my fitness routine. Physical activity is one of the many ways we can support our overall well-being.

I have also made a commitment to decrease my sugar intake—slowly but intentionally bidding sugar farewell. Since nutrition plays such a vital role in our health, I recently started a garden and am growing tomatoes, parsley, peppers, grapes, and other fresh produce. There is something rewarding about nurturing what will eventually nourish you.

When we talk about mental health, we often focus on emotional and psychological well-being. While those areas are important, wellness is really about caring for the whole self. Our thoughts, emotions, physical health, nutrition, relationships, and daily habits are all interconnected.

As you continue your wellness journey, I encourage you to:

Be aware of the signs your mind and body are giving you.

Validate your experiences and feelings without judgment.

Pause and reset when life becomes overwhelming.

Make necessary adjustments to support your well-being.

Incorporate self-soothing and healthy coping strategies into your daily routine.

Seek professional help and support when needed.

Personal growth and wellness are lifelong journeys, not destinations. Every small step you take toward caring for yourself matters.

My question for you is: What will you commit to doing to improve your wellness?

Wishing you continued health, balance, and growth,
