Bailee and Connor’s wedding felt like it was made for a summer day in the countryside.

Soft garden roses, chamomile dancing in the breeze, and seasonal blooms in shades of blush, buttercream, lavender, and sky blue.

Nothing overly structured.

Just flowers that felt like they belonged alongside weathered silos, open fields, cowboy boots, and the people who gathered to celebrate these two.

It’s back for the 2026 season!

This week’s bouquets are a little snapshot of everything we love.

The yarrow is absolutely showing off right now in shades of pink, peach, cream, and soft yellow. The stock is blooming beautifully. The feverfew and Canterbury bells are dancing everywhere. And those incredible ruffled garden roses? They arrived from our wholesale flower friends in California and are stealing the show.

One of my favorite things about our subscriptions is that no two Saturdays are ever exactly the same. We blend what’s blooming in our two backyard gardens with carefully selected stems from trusted growers to create something unique each week.

After months of planting, watering, weeding, and waiting, seeing the gardens finally start to fill with color never gets old. 🌱💕

And of course, Bear made sure to supervise this morning’s harvest and quality-check everything before it headed out the door. 🐾

Not many brides get to carry flowers harvested from their own family homestead. 🌸

A few weeks before this wedding, the bride’s family was away celebrating college graduations when the peonies at her childhood home reached their peak bloom. Her mom asked if I could step in, harvest them, and carefully store them until wedding week.

So I spent a few afternoons gathering bucket after bucket of peonies from the place where this bride grew up, that would later become part of her wedding day.

When wedding week arrived, we blended those sentimental peonies with blooms from our own gardens and carefully selected specialty stems to create the colorful, wildflower-inspired designs she envisioned. Every bouquet and arrangement felt like the perfect mix of family history, locally grown beauty, and a little Backyard Blooms creativity.

But what I’ll remember most wasn’t the flowers, it was the love. ❤️ The warmth of this family, the pride, the joy, and the feeling that every detail was deeply meaningful.

That means one of our favorite traditions is almost here…

🌿 Summer Subscription Season begins this Saturday! 🌿

From June through August, our subscribers receive a fresh bouquet each week filled with the best of what’s blooming in our gardens and carefully selected seasonal flowers. No two weeks are exactly alike—one week might be soft and romantic, the next bright and cheerful, and another full of wildflower charm.

It’s one of the most rewarding parts of our season because subscribers get to experience the gardens as they change and grow week by week.

From the first snapdragons and stock to the zinnias, sunflowers, and dahlias waiting in the wings, summer is just getting started.

What a weekend!🥹🥰🫶

We packed, loaded, delivered, and handed out nearly 60 bouquets for Studio B Legacy’s recital weekend, and our hearts are so full. Seeing your dancers light up when they received their flowers was such a special reminder of why we do what we do.

To every family who pre-ordered, stopped by to say hello, shared photos, or supported our little flower farm and floral business—thank you. Your support means more than you know.

One thing we heard over and over this weekend was:

“Do you have any extras?”

The answer was unfortunately no this year… and we had at least 20 families ask!

So consider this our official note to self: next year we’ll be bringing extra bouquets to the recital for last-minute shoppers and surprise celebrations. 💐

We’re incredibly grateful to Studio B Legacy for trusting us to be part of such an important weekend and to all the dancers who let our flowers join them for their big moments on stage.

Now we’re off to catch our breath, refill some buckets, and start planning for next season. 😊

Now listen… I’m definitely more of a boy sport mom than a dance mom 😅 but even I know how special recital weekend is! This is our very first year being part of recital weekend, and we would absolutely love to make this a tradition for years to come. We are so excited to be a small part of it this year and are incredibly thankful for all the support you’ve shown our little flower farm and floral business. 💐🫶🌿

Just a reminder that recital bouquet pre-orders close THIS THURSDAY!

We’ve been working with Studio B families for the last 6 weeks creating special bouquets for dancers, and we want to make pickup as EASY as possible for busy recital weekend schedules.

We will be set up right at Mt. Zion High School BOTH recital days with all pre-orders ready for convenient pickup at the venue 🙌 No extra stops needed between hair appointments, makeup, costumes, and recital chaos.

We are also offering FREE delivery on the Friday before recital weekend if your family would rather have bouquets delivered ahead of time. Just send us a message if you’d like Friday delivery arranged — otherwise your order will be waiting for you at the recital.

Back to our backyard blooms summer edition 🌱💐

After weeks of Mother’s Day chaos, weddings, graduations, bloom bars, teaching, and Patrick being deep into shutdown season at ADM… we’re finally getting time to focus back on growing.

These little rows are just one small part of it all. One thing that makes Backyard Blooms kind of unique is that we actually grow from two different backyard locations… two backyards if you will 🌿🏡 Between this space and the beds and greenhouse at our home, we’ve got dahlias growing, baby starters everywhere, and rows of stock and snapdragons already starting to bloom.

Right now it may just look like tiny plants and straw-covered rows, but give it a little time and these spaces will be overflowing with flowers headed into your bouquets, subscriptions, weddings, and market wraps all summer long.

There’s honestly something really special about watching flowers go from seed to bouquet right here in our own backyards. And we’re so thankful you all continue to support this little flower dream season after season. 🖤

Now if the weather, weeds, and rabbits could just cooperate… that’d be great 😂🌦️🐇
