With a growing fleet and expanding footprint across Alabama and the Southeast, we’re seeking a detail-oriented and organized Trucking Assistant / Operations Coordinator to help manage daily logistics, fleet oversight, and back-end operations.

Job Description:
We are looking for a highly organized and responsible individual to assist with day-to-day trucking operations. The ideal candidate will play a key role in keeping our business running smoothly by handling administrative tasks, communicating with partners, and supporting fleet and driver operations.

Key Responsibilities:
Monitor and track fleet (box trucks, cargo vans) and ensure maintenance schedules are followed

Keep detailed logs of diesel usage, fuel receipts, and mileage tracking

Assist with managing employees: logging hours, verifying timecards, assisting with weekly payroll reporting

File and organize delivery paperwork, invoices, and compliance documents

Make and receive calls from final mile partners (e.g., Lowe’s, RXO) and vendors

Draft and send professional emails to clients, carriers, and support teams

Coordinate with dispatchers and warehouse staff for route and delivery efficiency

Handle communication between drivers, clients, and company leadership

Assist with onboarding new hires (helpers and drivers)

Qualifications:
Previous administrative, logistics, or trucking company experience preferred

Strong communication and organizational skills

Proficient with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and email

Familiarity with trucking/final mile delivery processes is a plus

Must be reliable, punctual, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment

High School diploma or GED required; Associate’s or higher preferred

Work Schedule:
Monday – Friday, occasional weekends based on operational needs

Full-time, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (some flexibility available)

Full job description (THIS IS A OVER THE ROAD POSITION)

As a Cargo/Sprinter Van Delivery Driver for Jahmirris C Smith Enterprises, you will make business-to-business deliveries to our customers on a multi-stop route in and out of the Alabama market. You must have a valid driver's license to drive a Cargo/Sprinter Van.

Key Responsibilities for Van Drivers:

1 Pick up freight and deliver to designated stores.
2 Use the Load delivery app to track and document all deliveries.
3 Maintain a clean van
4 Exceed customer delivery requirements and specifications.
5 Represent Jahmirris C Smith Enterprises professionally and courteously.
6 Be presentable and provide excellent customer service to customers.
7 Be on time to work and all stops.
