A week ago this home in the Brookhaven area of North Dallas was hiding from the street with dark colors and lots of landscaping. With a new lighter color, a new front door and new shutters, the look of this home has been totally transformed.

Just East of the Fort Worth Zoo and the parts that surround it, the Forest Park neighborhood is full of older homes, some of which are being upgraded and some of which are being replaced with new homes built on classic lines. This new home features classic shutters and hardware on the front elevation to compliment the modern windows and attention to detail. Half the homes being built in Dallas right now are "modern", with many of them being predominantly glass, with a bit of stucco around the glass. This slightly more traditional variation has more standard windows, with LOTS of stucco, so these wide louvered shutters are the perfect final detail to jazz up the elevation without being too much.
