The City of Decatur's comprehensive bus stop assessment with the Champaign County Regional Planning Commission (CCRPC) is underway!

We welcome Data Collection Interns Bullveye Woodhall (left) and Brian Perales to Decatur! These interns, hired by the CCRPC, will be visiting more than 900 bus stops across the city to evaluate if stops need improvement and are compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

This project is an important step to ensure that public transit remains safe, inclusive, and accessible for everyone. If you see these interns out and about, feel free to say hello - they are doing vital work that will help shape the future for Decatur!

Comprehensive bus stop study to be considered by Council

The Decatur Urban Area Transportation Study (DUATS) is partnering with the Champaign County Regional Planning Commission to complete a comprehensive bus stop assessment for Decatur Public Transit.

This project will evaluate bus stops across the Decatur urbanized area, identify needed improvements, and ensure accessibility for all riders. The goal is to enhance safety, reliability, and the overall transit experience while supporting long-term transportation planning.

The agreement will be presented to City Council at their Monday, May 4, meeting. We look forward to continuing this collaborative effort to strengthen transit infrastructure in our community.

Set up your new Rider account and get a Rider's Card!

We are ready to apply all discounts to your Rider account/Rider Card now including Circuit Breaker, student status, disability, etc. Please visit the downtown transit center window with verification paperwork and we will get your account all set up.

On our fixed-route buses, the transition continues to our new validation system where you can tap your Rider's Card or mobile phone or scan a QR code to validate trips. When your monthly pass or punch card is used up, we will move you to the new system instead of giving another physical pass or punch card.
