Many thanks to The Princess Theatre Center for the Performing Arts for providing the beautiful mezzanine for our event!
We appreciated Councilmen Carlton McMasters and Kyle Dukes Pike for stopping by.
Hands Across Decatur (HAD) shared more about the amazing service they provide to our city. Did you know HAD receives NO support from city, county, state or federal government? Why has NO FUNDING been provided to the only delegated 501(c)3 homeless organization/advocacy in Morgan County, Limestone County and Lawrence County? Decatur has a department dedicated to pursuing grants; why hasn’t there been any effort to fund HAD? Their Community Center serves hundreds in need weekly; HAD needs and deserves support.

HAD will provide hot meals throughout the holidays including Christmas Day!
Scroll down for their list of needs for food and supplies.

HAD also needs volunteers to help provide hot meals and other services.
They are open 8-1 (earlier/later hours if weather advisory) Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday; open 8:30-1 Wednesday and Friday typically closed. They feed hot lunch Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday 11-12. HAD serves between 150 and 240 hot meals per week. They offer hot showers Monday-Thursday and laundry service Tuesday and Thursday.
