Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at how our UMD and HFC teams are fabricating the bus bars for our Battery Disconnect Unit (BDU).

As part of our Battery Workforce Challenge journey, the and teams are working hand-in-hand to design and fabricate critical EV components. This week’s spotlight: custom bus bar production using a hand-crafted bending tool and copper sheet metal.

This copper is getting cut and shaped using a custom-made bending tool, and we have to give a special shoutout to the HFC machining team for the hands-on work!

This is what student collaboration looks like - learning real manufacturing skills while building the EV future. Real skills. Real collaboration. Real engineering.
