Maryland has officially passed and signed Senate Bill 334 (SB334), a new fi****ms law targeting what the state calls “Machine Gun Convertible Pistols.” This law will directly impact many G***k-style and striker-fired handguns beginning January 1, 2027.

Here’s what Maryland firearm owners and CCW holders need to know:

✅ The law DOES NOT currently criminalize simple possession of fi****ms you already legally own.
✅ The law DOES prohibit the future manufacture, sale, purchase, transfer, or receipt of covered fi****ms in Maryland after January 1, 2027.
✅ Maryland State Police are expected to publish a list of affected handgun models.
✅ The law specifically targets fi****ms lawmakers believe can be easily converted using illegal “switch” or auto sear devices.

The exact law is Maryland Senate Bill 334:
“Criminal Law – Firearm Crimes – Machine Gun Convertible Pistols.”

The bill states that beginning January 1, 2027, a person may not:

* manufacture,
* sell,
* offer for sale,
* purchase,
* receive,
* or transfer
a prohibited “machine gun convertible pistol.”

Important notes for responsible gun owners:

* Illegal G***k switches and auto sears were already federally illegal before this bill.
* This new Maryland law targets certain firearm platforms themselves.
* Multiple lawsuits are already being filed challenging the law.

If you legally own G***k pistols or similar striker-fired handguns:

* Keep records/documentation of lawful ownership.
* Stay updated on Maryland State Police guidance and published model lists.
* Be cautious regarding future transfers or purchases after the law takes effect.
