TURN AROUND DON’T DROWN 🚨🛟⚠️

Crews are currently assisting Big River Fire Protection District, with water-rescues located inside St. Francois State Park. Crews also responded earlier this morning for a vehicle that had drove into floodwaters.

Second Alarm Structure Fire - 🚨

At approximately 11:00pm yesterday evening, crews were dispatched by Jefferson County 9-1-1 to the 3000 Block of Thompson Rd outside DeSoto for a residential structure fire. An off-duty Hematite Fire member arrived on the scene first to find a large two story structure, well involved.

Due to the volume of fire, a second alarm was requested for additional water supply and manpower. Upon arrival, crews deployed multiple handlines and initiated a defensive fire attack. After an extended amount of time, the incident was brought under control.

The Missouri State Fire Marshal’s Office was requested to the scene to assist with the investigation and cause of the fire.
