High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) is a highly durable, petroleum-based thermoplastic polymer widely used for consumer goods and industrial components. It’s favored for its strength-to-density ratio, intense impact resistance, and moisture immunity. However, HDPE cannot be cut using standard laser cutting systems. The intense thermal energy of a laser causes the material to melt and deform rather than cleanly vaporize. Because of this thermal limitation, waterjet cutting is essential for achieving precise, clean, and distortion-free edges!
