Our Deputy Director, Dora Rose, recently joined CalNonprofits for a crucial panel on "Securing the Right to Vote: Election Protection Strategies." From federal database weaponization to local attacks on vote-by-mail right here in CA, the landscape is daunting but completely answerable.

As Dora perfectly puts it: "A slow count is not a sign that the system is broken; it’s a sign that it’s careful."

We are proud to be state-proofing our democracy, co-sponsoring the California Voting Rights Act of 2026 (lwvc.org/cvra), and working year-round to build trusted voting infrastructure.
