My name is Dr. Raja Goli.

I am an Ophthalmologist (a medical
doctor who specializes in diseases and
surgeries of the eyes and eyelids).

Please let me tell you a little bit about
myself ……

My father was a surgeon in India and
my family moved from India to the
United States when I was a small child.

I completed elementary school and
high school in a small coal mining town
in southeastern Kentucky where my
father practiced Urology for many years.

I earned my college Bachelor of Arts degree
in Lexington, Kentucky at Transylvania
University where I was a Biological Sciences
major and I was on the Dean’s List for high
academic achievement.

After college, I earned my Doctor of Medicine
degree in Louisville, Kentucky at the University
of Louisville School of Medicine where I received
Honors.

After medical school, I completed an internship
in Internal Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio at the
Cleveland Clinic Huron Hospital program.

I completed my three-year Internal Medicine
residency in Los Angeles, California at the
University of Southern California Keck
School of Medicine and I was board certified
by the American Board of Internal Medicine
for ten years.

After completing my Internal Medicine residency
program, I worked in emergency rooms, primary
care clinics, and occupational medicine clinics for
several years and gained a significant amount of
experience treating bone and joint problems,
cancer, diabetes, heart disease, lung disease,
strokes, and other serious medical conditions.

I became interested in Ophthalmology and I
competed a one-year pre-residency fellowship
in Ophthalmic Pathology in Washington, D.C.
at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology where
I was the primary author of a scientific paper
that was published in a leading Ophthalmology
journal.

I completed a second three-year residency in
Ophthalmology in Cincinnati, Ohio at the
University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.

I am currently board certified by the American
Board of Ophthalmology and I participate in
the ABO Maintenance of Certification Program.

My major clinical and surgical interests include,
but are not limited to: diabetic eye disease,
eyelid problems, glaucoma, premium intraocular
lens cataract surgery, and neurological disorders
that affect the visual system.

I am very excited to offer my patients premium
cataract surgery with the Alcon Digital Marker
System and the new Alcon Vivity intraocular
lens. My cataract surgery patients in whom I
have implanted the new Vivity lenses have
been thrilled with their vision and the fact
that they rarely have to use eyeglasses after
their premium lens cataract surgery!

In my off time, I enjoy exercising, driving my
cars, and traveling.

My younger brother, Dr. Vijay Goli, is a Urologist
in Las Vegas, Nevada and he is a part-owner
of an exotic car rental company. Whenever I
visit Vijay in Las Vegas, I get to drive Ferraris,
Lamborghinis, and other super expensive
exotic cars on the famous Las Vegas Strip!
