Running unpatched software is like driving on bald tires. Sooner or later something is going to blow.
Three Tier One failures we find in trucking companies more than any others:
Backups that have never been tested. Not just configured. Actually restored from, under pressure, against a clock.
MFA that isn’t everywhere. Criminals don’t hack into networks. They log in. A stolen password with no MFA is an open door.
End-of-life systems nobody has touched in years. Criminals scan for these vulnerabilities the way a predator scans for the weakest animal in the herd.
None of these are hard to fix. All of them show up in the NMFTA Cybersecurity Best Practices Guidebook as Tier One prerequisites. The starting line. Not the finish line.
Which of these three would your team struggle to answer confidently right now?

You don't rise to the occasion. You fall to the level of your preparation.
Every trucking company we have worked with through an active incident proves that out. The ones who recovered fastest were not the ones with the biggest budgets. They were the ones who had already had the hard conversation in a conference room before they had to have it in a crisis.
The NMFTA Cargo Crime Framework, real ransomware claim data, and years of post-incident work all point to the same conclusion: rehearsal is the variable that separates recovery from disaster.
Our latest blog makes the case. Link in comments.
Melanie Padron is bringing Proof to Profit to the NMFTA Convention this year. If your team needs to have this conversation before then, let's talk.
If an incident started today, would your team execute or improvise?
