MFA is still important, but Kali365 is a reminder that MFA is not magic.
The FBI is warning about a phishing-as-a-service platform targeting Microsoft 365 accounts through device-code abuse. The scary part is that the victim may land on a real Microsoft verification page and still end up approving an attacker’s device.
That can expose Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and the business conversations criminals need to launch believable invoice fraud, file-sharing scams, and account takeover attacks.
The simple rule: never enter a Microsoft device code unless you personally started the sign-in.
For IT teams, this is also a control issue. Audit device-code usage, restrict it where possible, train users on this specific attack, and revoke suspicious OAuth sessions quickly.
The real gap is not whether MFA is turned on. It is whether users and controls are ready for attacks that abuse legitimate login flows.
