Planning to visit DAC soon? Let’s make sure we’re ready to serve you!
To better serve our community, Deaf Action Center is now appointment-based. We no longer accept walk-ins. Scheduling ahead helps our team coordinate availability, give you the time and support you deserve, and provide quality service without long waits.
To make an appointment, please call or email us. Thank you for helping us serve our community!
—VIDEO ACCESSIBILITY: The video opens with Arlene, DAC’s Operations and Service manager, smiling and signing to the camera in her office. The wall is painted red and there’s a large plant behind Arlene.
Arlene signs, “Hi! I’m Arlene. I’m the Operations & Service Manager here at Deaf Action Center. We have an important update regarding our appointment policy:
DAC do not accept walk-ins. You must make an appointment first. Why? This helps our staff make sure we’re able to provide everyone a quality service. Sometimes, when people walk in last minute and without an appointment, they end up waiting too long or have an unsatisfactorily short appointment.
There could be even no staff available at all because sometimes, our staff will be out for community events or presentations. The best practice is to coordinate availability and schedule an appointment, then the staff would be able to sit down with you and provide the support that you need.
This is standard in many places, like the doctor’s office or the lawyer’s. Can you go to a doctor/lawyer’s office without an appointment? Can you do that? No. You’d need to make an appointment, just like at DAC. Deaf Action Center is not an emergency service. If you’re experiencing an emergency, please contact 9-1-1.
Making an appointment is simple; all you need to do is call or email us. We will have someone working with you to make an appointment.
We appreciate your understanding, as we continue to serve you and our community.”
Arlene concludes. The video cuts to the DAC logo with a white background. Below the logo, the tagline appears in three following words in a wipe effect: “Advocacy”, “Communication.”, and “Empowerment."
