Happy Black History Month!

This month we will be recognizing mentors, leaders and trailblazers throughout our history. Bill Russell, former center for the Boston Celtics from 1956 to 1969 says that his mother was his greatest mentor. Bill now sits on the board for MENTOR and understands how important guidance is to a young person. Sadly his mother passed when he was 12 but he says, "..she stayed with me–in my thoughts, my goals, my aspirations….her presence, her teachings, remained with me when she was not around.”

Mentoring is so important to many and vital to the success of the generation under us. Would you consider your mom your greatest mentor? If not, who is? Share in the comments!
