Although awareness of vitiligo has grown significantly in recent years, many patients are still searching for treatment options that help restore pigment and improve quality of life.

Research has already helped bring new therapies to patients, but there is still more work to do.

Through clinical research, Reveal Research Institute is helping advance our understanding of vitiligo and evaluate potential future treatment options.

Because every step forward in research brings us closer to better outcomes for patients.

Vitiligo is an autoimmune condition that causes the loss of pigment-producing cells called melanocytes.

As a result, white or depigmented patches develop on the skin.

Vitiligo can affect anyone regardless of age, gender, or ethnicity and impacts approximately 1% of the world’s population.

While vitiligo is not contagious or physically harmful, it can significantly affect emotional well-being and quality of life.

At Reveal Research Institute, we’re committed to advancing vitiligo research and exploring new approaches to care.

For many patients, HS is much more than a skin condition.

The pain, drainage, scarring, and unpredictable flare-ups can affect confidence, relationships, work, and overall quality of life.

While treatment options have improved over the last decade, many patients continue to search for therapies that provide meaningful relief.

That’s where clinical research comes in.

At Reveal Research Institute, we’re helping advance the future of HS care by studying potential new therapies and expanding treatment options for patients.

Every breakthrough begins with research.

Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) affects an estimated 1-4% of the population, yet many patients go years without a proper diagnosis.

HS is a chronic inflammatory skin condition that can cause painful bumps, abscesses, drainage, and scarring, most commonly in the underarms, groin, and other skin folds.

Despite its impact on daily life, HS remains underdiagnosed and undertreated.

That’s why research matters.

At Reveal Research Institute, we’re committed to advancing our understanding of HS and helping evaluate potential new treatment options through clinical research.

Advancing Care Through Clinical Trials

Today, we recognize the impact of clinical research and the patients who make it possible.

As Dr. Redina Bardhi shares, one of the most eye-opening parts of dermatology research is the unmet need. So many people are living with chronic skin conditions that affect their daily lives, yet still struggle to find effective treatment options.

Clinical trials help bridge that gap offering access to investigational treatments while helping advance the future of dermatologic care.

At Reveal Research Institute, we are actively conducting studies for a variety of skin conditions, and your participation can make a meaningful difference.

Are you thinking about dermatology research? 🔬

Research Fellow Jane Conway shares her advice for anyone looking to enter the field:

The best place to start is to get involved early, seek out strong mentors who can guide and support your growth, and stay consistent throughout your journey.

Most importantly, great research starts with curiosity. Asking meaningful questions and turning them into work that can make a real impact in dermatology.

At Reveal Research Institute, we’re proud to support the next generation of researchers who are shaping the future of skin health.

At Reveal Research Institute, we see firsthand the impact that chronic and complex skin conditions have on patients’ lives. While we are not currently conducting clinical trials for skin cancer, our work in dermatology research is focused on advancing care, improving treatment options, and supporting better outcomes across a wide range of skin diseases.
