We’ve just had ~835 days of winter weather school cancellations. Being a working parent is tough in times like these - the kids are pent up, you have work to do, and all you really want to do is enjoy the winter wonder with them!

Not too long ago, juggling this was an impossibility. One teammate recalls scrambling one snow day in the 2000s to find child care for her kids, then taking DART to work because her employer expected her to be in-office. Another teammate grimaces, remembering having to tell her kids to give her 2 more hours to finish a task before she could help them build a snowman, but by that time, the snow had already melted.

As one teammate reflected, “The flexibility of SparkFarm allows me to stay in the workforce in a way that truly works for me.” We understand when working parent stress runs high, and how to navigate it. This is not new for us; we’ve been backing each other up, and bringing humor and understanding to working parent life since 2009. Our rearranged meetings this week to accommodate family/work balance is one example. It is the kind of thing that helped SparkFarm earn its Best Place For Working Parents certification for the 5th year in a row.

Y’ALLLLLLL! It’s ‘s birthday and we want to share a few of the MANY reasons we love her and love working with her.

1. She is ALWAYS friendly and joyful.
2. We “dahhhh” (pronounce with a Monroe, Louisiana) to hear her adorable accent. Sweet as pumpkin “paaahhh”.
3. Wherever she goes, she knows someone. But if by some chance she didn’t know anyone, she would leave with five new best friends.(because see 1 and 2 above.)
4. Nothing is impossible. Everything is possible.
5. Jack of all trades. Organic social? Email content? ✅ ✅ PR? 🙋‍♀️
