I used to believe pain meant stop. Now I understand pain is often a protective signal — something to listen to, learn from, and respond to with wisdom… not fear.
Over the years, I’ve worked through hip pain, back pain, plantar fasciitis, knee pain, and ankle pain. These pain issues weren’t caused by running — but running made me more aware of it.
What I’ve learned as both a runner and a physical therapist is this:
the body is adaptable, resilient, and capable of healing.
At 52, I’m running pain free.
Not because my body is perfect.
But because I’ve learned how to strength train, recover, manage stress, and truly listen to my body instead of fighting against it.
Pain is information.
It’s not always a stop sign. ❤️
If you’re a runner struggling with recurring pain, comment “RUN” or send me a DM. I’d love to help you feel strong and confident in your body again.
