Cryptocurrencies have been around for more than a decade now. The market for the thousands of coins and tokens is volatile. Various government bodies and agencies have taken inconsistent positions as to how cryptocurrency should be categorized (property, currency, securities, etc.).

What is clear is that some holders have become wealthy extraordinarily quickly, while others have suffered great losses at about the same speed. Bower PLLC represents players in the crypto space falling into each of these categories.

While this new bill (if ultimately made law) is unlikely to end the confusion about the characterization of cryptocurrency, hopefully it will create a mechanism to go after unscrupulous actors in the crypto space.
