My name is Christina Raemhild and I am the Code Enforcement Manager with the City of Farmers Branch. I’m reaching out to share an update that should positively affect your clients when buying or selling residential properties within the City of Farmers Branch. This summer, Farmers Branch City Council approved ending the long-standing Residential Certificate of Occupancy requirement.

What does this mean for new residents moving to Farmers Branch? Residents purchasing a new home in Farmers Branch will be able to move into their home and turn on their utilities without the requirement of this certificate of occupancy. They also won’t be required to get an inspection from the City before turning on utilities. We are eager this change will create a smoother transition for new residents.
