And ever since the world went through a particularly tumultuous time back in 2019, Riot's Social Impact Fund has funded school programs, provided vital medical supplies and has chose which charities to support based on the vote of the players. Riot's Social Impact Fund is a nonprofit org partnered with ImpactAssets that focuses on dealing with systemic issues in “education, opportunity, citizenship and sustainability” around the globe. Additionally, the foundation puts player agency front and center, letting the people vote on which local charities to support. And all of the money was raised via campaigns spearheaded by Riot and special skin bundles that millions of players from around the globe bought to support a cause. Credit: Riot Games Today, Riot announced that the Social Impact Fund has raised more than $50 million dollars supporting 450 organizations in 28 regions since 2019. Riot Games CEO Dylan Jadeja was elated with the major milestone, expressing that Riot was “..humbled by the millions of players who give their time, money and voice to help drive positive change and create a lasting impact for years to come.” It's amazing to see a gaming company this successful give back to its community. After Riot's annual esports championship broke record numbers in peak viewership in the Worlds 2023 grand final, fans of the game were even more stoked to find out that Riot made donations to Water.org throughout the tournament. Riot Social Impact Fund Achievements If you're an active VALORANT or League of Legends player, you've probably indirectly contributed to Riot's latest milestone. We got a Release Date for Dragons Dogma 2 and a bunch more after the most recent showcase by Capcom. The 15-minute presentation revealed a lot about the epic RPG helmed by Hideaki Itsuno. To make it easy for you, we've compiled everything we learned about it from the presentation with everything from the launch date and gameplay details to what versions will be available at launch. Dragons Dogma 2 Release Date [embedded content] The Game is expected to be released on March 22, 2024, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam after being announced in late 2022. This is 12 years after the release of the original Dragons Dogma and its Dark Arisen DLC which followed a year later. If you want to check out the original, it is currently on sale and available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Dragons Dogma 2 Story Image: Capcom The story of Dragons Dogma 2 is set in a parallel universe to that of the first game. The story and setting are completely unique while still featuring some of the magical mechanics of the original. The player takes on the role of the Arisen, a character you get to create who had their heart stolen by a dragon. You are followed around by so-called Pawns, magical servants that exist to assist you on your quest. Your mission is to find the dragon who stole your heart and uncover the mystery surrounding the king who is also claiming the title of Arisen. Amidst the turmoil of the dragon's appearance, you'll also need to navigate the different cultures and their struggle with the havoc the dragons wreak across the land. Dragons Dogma 2 Multiplayer Image: Capcom Despite popular demand, Dragons Dogma 2 does not feature a multiplayer mode. At least not in the traditional sense. In Dragons Dogma you get to create a pawn, an AI companion which will accompany you on your journey. A key feature of the original allowed players to share their pawns online and rent them to other players. Pawns will learn from the quest they have completed and the monsters they have fought and then share that knowledge with the player. This time around, pawns can also learn special traits such as the language of different races like the elves. Having a pawn with that ability will be your only way to communicate with these other races. As of writing, we don't know what other abilities will be available for Pawns but we assume there'll be enough to encourage you to keep switching up your party. Dragons Dogma 2 Gameplay Image: Capcom The gameplay of Dragons Dogma 2 is best summarized as a combination of Monster Hunter and Devil May Cry. Its combat is fast and allows for many different approaches. Vocations are basically combat classes that exist in a spectrum between ranged, magic, and physical approaches to combat. Rogues can fly through the air becoming Beyblades of death, mages can summon gigantic meteors and thunderstorms, and the sword fighter can perfectly parry a dragon's fireball with a well-timed use of a shield. Dragons Dogma 2 plans to bring a more sandbox approach to combat. You can now use your environment to your advantage, destroying bridges to slow down an enemy's approach or dropping a cliffside on them. The best way to describe Dragons Dogma is that compared to Baldur's Gate 3 which simulates the gameplay of Dungeons & Dragons, Dragons Dogma tries to simulate how it feels to play the tabletop classic. Monsters are scaleable, the big ones can be slowed down by attacking individual limbs, and wandering around at night will let you find horrors untold.
