π Year 6 of the Trinity River Crew is officially underway! π
Our newest crew hit the ground running last week, kicking things off with onboarding and training on tool safety, protective eyewear, heat illness prevention, and safe lifting β plus a crash course on the history of the Trinity River, which they aced on the first try π. From there, the crew hit the field, heading to Ron Kirk Bridge to spend two hours down in the levees conducting bird and plant surveys, then got an inside look of the Harold Simmons Park Park design at the Trinity Park Conservancy offices.
To close out the week, they got hands-on training (and certified!) in water chemistry surveys before trekking out to Frasier Dam to run their first water chemistry tests in pairs, mostly flying solo. Already proving they're ready for the summer ahead πͺ β stay tuned as we follow their journey.
The Trinity River Crew is a joint Conservation Corps program of Greenspace Dallas and Trinity Park Conservancy.

Just as so many have fought to protect us, we carry forward that devotion by protecting the land we steward. This Memorial Day, we pause to remember, honor, and give thanks. πΊπΈπΏ
