DFW Airport joins the aviation community in mourning the passing of Wally Funk, a trailblazing North Texas pilot, instructor and space traveler who spent her life proving that no dream is out of reach. A member of the Mercury 13, Funk broke barriers throughout a remarkable career. In 2021, she finally achieved her lifelong dream of traveling to space aboard Blue Origin. Her determination inspired generations of aviators, especially women and girls who saw new possibilities because she refused to accept limits on what she could achieve.
