Team Julie was heartened to stand with faith leaders and folks from across Dallas yesterday in a show of solidarity and strength for all affected by the apartments explosion in Oak Cliff. You can still donate at missionoakcliff.org/donate and drop off donations at 111 S Beckley Ave. Water, non perishable food items and gift cards are appreciated. For 19 families and their loved ones, that day will stand out as one of the worst of their lives. You can be a part of showing up and making sure they don’t feel forgotten as the days go by.

Today, we mourn the passing of our dear friend, Democratic Party Precinct Chair Sylvia Collins.

Sylvia was a steadfast supporter of our campaign and a dedicated servant to both the Dallas Democratic Party and our communities for decades. She brought passion, kindness, and unwavering commitment to everything she did, always working to uplift others and strengthen the causes she believed in. Her leadership and presence made a lasting impact on so many across Dallas.

We are deeply grateful for Sylvia’s friendship, service, and tireless advocacy. She will be greatly missed, and we extend our heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
