The Van Alstyne City Council has unanimously approved a five-year contract with Community Waste Disposal (CWD), set to begin on June 1, 2026. This partnership promises to bring top-notch waste management services to the community, including trash collection, recycling, bulky waste, and bundled brush pickup. Notably, CWD will also offer a convenient Door-side Collection service for household hazardous waste (HHW) and used electronics, ensuring safe disposal options for residents. Our Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) has undergone a major transformation.
Designed and manufactured by CPG Sorting Technologies, the upgraded system doubles the amount of material we can process in the same amount of time, making the facility significantly more efficient while also improving safety throughout the operation.
These upgrades do more than increase throughput. By leveraging advanced sorting technology, we are recovering more recyclable materials from the incoming stream while improving the quality of the finished commodities that are shipped from our facility.
A project like this takes months of planning, coordination, and hard work. We are proud of our engineering, maintenance, and operations teams who helped bring this upgraded facility to life.
