You may not know anything about clean energy or the DOE, but this appointment is amazing for the country. Jigar Shah is a personal hero of mine and helped start the entire solar industry during the early Bush administration. To have him at the DOE will mean a lot of innovation will be funded, and brings a necessary free market perspective.
