You might ask “When is his off season?” Brandon Jones, Carter Cowboy and Senior, plays outfields for the Carter Baseball Team. He also plays for the Carter Football Team, Basketball Team and runs Track. Brandon’s future goals include playing college football and owning his own clothing business. He credits his Atwell Baseball Coach, Coach Summers, for inspiring him to play and love baseball. He is also inspired by the quote by Jim Valvano, “Never give up! Failure and rejection are only the first step to succeeding.” His favorite player is Fernando Tatis Jr. Jones is true athlete and team player.

Alvin Hollins, Carter Cowboy Senior and Team Captain, plays pitcher, third base and out field; although, his favorite position to play is third. Alvin fondly recalls “I was 10 years old when one of my friends asked me to play baseball and I just got really good at it fast.” Hollins says “I love the game because it’s something I see myself going far in and just playing the game helps me get my mind off of things.” He is inspired by the quote by Gandhi “Be the change that you wish to see in the world”, which mirrors his gentle giant persona. His future goals are to attend college and major in Computer Science or Engineering where he can secure a degree to ensure he can provide for his family and himself. Alvin is a true example of an athlete and a scholar.
