PUBLIC SAFETY REMINDER
Please Share
Situational awareness matters everywhere. Criminal activity, trafficking, robberies, assaults, and abductions are not limited to large cities or specific areas. These things can happen anywhere, including small towns, quiet neighborhoods, shopping centers, parking lots, and even close to places people assume are “safe.” Criminals do not care where you live.
This image is being shared as an example of how distraction techniques can potentially be used around vehicles. Whether intentional or not, it serves as a reminder to stay alert and aware of your surroundings at all times.
Many people misunderstand trafficking and related crimes. Not every situation looks like what is shown in movies or on television. Criminals often rely on distraction, confusion, isolation, and opportunity. Techniques involving objects near vehicles, unexpected distractions, or attempts to divert attention are just some of many methods that can be used during criminal activity.
The point of this post is not fear or panic. It is awareness.
Pay attention when approaching your vehicle. Scan your surroundings. Keep your children close. Avoid becoming distracted by unusual objects or situations near your car without first assessing the area around you.
No place is completely off limits to criminal activity. Staying aware and prepared is one of the best tools you have to protect yourself and your family.
Stay safe. Stay alert. Untrafficked
