We’re at a tipping point. Political violence is escalating — public figures assassinated, elected officials threatened, government facilities attacked. The normalization of violence is one of the greatest dangers to America — when bullets replace words, democracy dies.

But we are not powerless.

On Nov. 6, thousands will gather online for the National Roundtable on Political Violence, an online event hosted by Newsweek and AllSides. Together, we’ll model a new way forward and make a statement — that America is choosing courage over chaos.

You’ll meet with thousands of others and then be placed in a small group of 4–6 people who have politically diverse perspectives. Together, you’ll talk, listen, and conclude with commitments to action.

Our nation is better than political violence! From the assassination of Charlie Kirk, to the shootings of Minnesota legislators Melissa Hortman and John Hoffman and their spouses recently, we as Americans stand together to unequivocally state that such acts have no place here. By coming together, we can help ensure that our country remains a beacon of democracy and civility, even in the face of adversity.

If you agree that political violence has no place in this country, please join us in resharing this post, add your own message if you want, and join the millions of Americans who believe we must stand up against political violence. We are and we must find better ways of engaging our differences.
