Bobcat Operator Job Description

Skid Steer: A skid steer is a smaller, engine-powered loader, usually used to assist with construction projects. As a skid steer operator, your exact duties may vary according to the project at hand, but include digging holes, moving large objects around a construction site, digging trenches, moving dirt or earth, assisting with laying pavement, and plowing snow. Skid steer operator jobs can be either normal employment or contract positions and can range from full-time to part-time. As a skid steer operator, you need a general knowledge of common tasks and responsibilities at construction sites, an understanding of proper construction safety procedures, and several hours of experience working with a skid steer.

Excavator: An excavator is a larger piece of equipment that is used primarily for excavation projects. It is suitable for larger projects such as digging foundations, moving earth for construction projects, and trenching. It has a bucket arm which can be used to dig, scoop, lift, and carry heavy material. It is most commonly used for commercial tasks such as road construction, site preparation, and large-scale excavation projects. It is also suitable for residential projects such as landscaping, grading, and excavation. Skid Steer/Excavator Operator to perform dirt work and landscaping tasks. Candidates must be able to take direction, follow project specifications, and communicate with operations staff.

Responsibilities:
- Operate skid steer picking up dirt and loading it into truck or trailer
- Grading around buildings, flatwork, and utilities
- Constructing house pads and gravel driveways
- Applicant will be required to have a performance interview on a job site

Qualifications:
- Must be able to maneuver skid steer in between tight spaces without hitting homes and utilities
- Must be able to finish grade following specs with tight clearances
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Experience pulling a trailer is preferred but not required
- Minimum 1 years experience operating skid steers and/or excavators

Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour
