There is a huge market for Agriculture based startups in Pakistan.
New players are entering the agriculture sector with modern technology and practices. However, if we look at the previous data on livestock (sheep, dairy cattle, beef cattle and deer) exports, it paints a very bleak picture. Pakistan has a total livestock population of 138.1 million while total livestock exports are $856.6 million.
Now let’s look at the country which has a greater number of livestock than humans.
No, I’m not talking about Pakistan, it’s New Zealand. NZ has a population of 5 million, but its livestock population is 39.6 million. It's total livestock exports are almost $13.4 billion.
Just the dairy exports $9.48 billion outnumber Pakistan's total livestock exports by a big margin.
The comparison might not be justified and there would be so many umms and aahs. Excuses won’t save the economy.
There is a dire need for more entrepreneurs to revolutionize the agriculture sector since it has huge potential for growth owing to the natural advantage of having climate, fertile lands, and Sun.

The government won’t save you anymore. Time to pass the torch to the young entrepreneurs.
