I’m excited to share why coalition-building has been the key to every victory we’ve earned together and why it will take all of us to win again.

Today, America celebrates 250 years.

For two and a half centuries, generations of Americans have worked to move our country closer to the promise of a more perfect Union. Our history is one of courage, sacrifice, resilience, and an enduring belief that democracy is worth protecting.

As the daughter of Romanian immigrants, I know the American story is still being written. My family’s journey to Texas was made possible by the freedoms and opportunities this country represents. Public schools, dedicated teachers, and a community that believed in me helped turn that promise into reality.

The greatest strength of our nation has never been that we are perfect. It is that every generation has accepted the responsibility to build a better future than the one they inherited.

On this historic Fourth of July, may we celebrate not only our independence, but also our shared commitment to liberty, democracy, opportunity, and the Constitution that continues to guide our nation 250 years later.

Happy Independence Day, and happy 250th birthday, America. 🇺🇸
