Book recommendation: Country Living Simple Country Wisdom: 501 Old-fashioned Ideas to Simplify Your Life by Susan Waggoner. One pantry tip I found useful: choose square or rectangular containers instead of round ones. They are easier to stack, less likely to tip over, and provide much more storage capacity for the space they take up.
