Under the new rules, short-term plans are now restricted to a maximum duration of three months, with a one-month extension available. This marks a significant departure from the previous regulations enacted during the Trump administration, which allowed these plans to extend up to three years.

Note these rules only apply for Short term Medical plans and not for Marketplace Plans ( Obamacare).

FRAUD ALERT: Urinary Catheter Scams

SMP has been receiving several reports of potential scams involving urinary catheters and many Medicare beneficiaries are noticing charges on their MSNs/EOBs for this equipment that they NEVER received or even ordered.
